You may not know his name but I’m pretty sure you have seen the man on the pictures here. If you have been to Berlin a few times and decided to enjoy the amazing nightlife this city has to offer you have come across Komet Bernhard at least once. His is less than a symbol but more than a mascot to the Berlin Nightlife and you will understand what I mean after you watch the documentary below.
He has white hair and a long beard that is always shaking to a techno beat. He glows with an amazing energy while he makes bubbles. His name is Komet Bernhard and he is a living legend in Berlin. You may not know where to find him precisely but he is always there dancing to the techno beat that swings the nightlife in Berlin.
But, who is Komet Bernhard? This was the question that the people behind freshmilk decided to answer when they produced this short documentary about his life. In less than 25 minutes, you will understand a little more about his life and why he is like he is. Everything will start at his house, an apartment where he lives since 2003 and from where he builds picture frames. From there it will go through of the many nights he has wandered around in Berlin. The camera follows him around Berlin but it seems that he doesn’t follow anything besides the music beat.
From the video, I have to say that I learned that the world is a wonderful thing. He’s 67 years old but Komet Bernhard is younger than me on the inside. He enjoys dancing more than anybody and he knows why he does it. Maybe, after watching the documentary, you will know as well.
