Since we moved to Berlin, all the way back in 2012, we have been grilling in parks and squares all around town. Some of these places changed over the years, and you can’t grill there anymore. But our favorite ones are still there!

Berlin is a city that loves to barbecue. With parks, beaches, and forests all within reach, there are many places where you can enjoy a good grill.

Since we have been keeping track of where you can go barbecuing in Berlin, here are some of the best spots to go barbecuing in Berlin:

Monbijoupark in Mitte

Located in the heart of Berlin’s Mitte district, Monbijoupark is a popular spot for barbecuing. You’ll find designated barbecue areas throughout the park and plenty of tables and benches for picnicking. The park has a lively atmosphere and is a great spot for people-watching. Grilling close to the main city spots like the Berliner Dom is amazing.

Tempelhofer Feld

Tempelhofer Feld is a former airport turned public park that spans over 300 hectares. It’s one of the most popular spots in the city for barbecuing, and you’ll find plenty of people grilling on sunny days. The park is easily accessible by public transport, and barbecue areas are scattered throughout the grounds. And it’s easily our favorite place to barbecue.

Mauerpark in Prenzlauer Berg

Mauerpark is another popular spot for barbecuing in Berlin. This large park is known for its flea market, but it’s also a great place to grill. You’ll find plenty of barbecue areas and picnic tables, and the park has a lively atmosphere on weekends.

Preußenpark in Wilmersdorf

Preußenpark is a park in western Berlin, popular for its Asian food market. It’s also a great spot for barbecuing, with designated areas throughout the park. The park has a multicultural vibe, and it’s a great spot to try some new foods and enjoy a good grill.

Landschaftspark Johannisthal

Landschaftspark Johannisthal is a large park in the southeastern part of Berlin. It’s a popular spot for hiking and biking but also a great place to barbecue. The park has designated barbecue areas; you’ll find plenty of space to grill and relax.

Barbecuing is a popular pastime in Berlin, and you can enjoy a good grill in plenty of places. Whether you’re looking for a park or a forest, the city has something for everyone.

Besides these five places above, you can also go barbecuing in Berlin at Rudolf-Mosse-Platz, close to the S-Bahn Heidelberger Platz, at Familienfarm Lübars, Blücherplatz next to Hallesches Tor, and Görlitzer Park.
