Birra Bar: Italian Craft Beer in Prenzlauer Berg

Birra is an Italian craft beer bar in the middle of Prenzlauer Berg. There you can travel to Italy without packing your bags and get a taste of one of the best breweries in the country: Birrificio Lambrate from Milan.

We have been familiar with Birra for a couple of years now, but we never manage to find the time to go there and enjoy some beers. Only in the Winter of 2021 that we finally visit this craft beer bar, and it was well worth the wait since we liked it so much that we are writing an entire article about it.

We hope you know but, if you don’t, Birra is the Italian word for beer, and this is the core of the bar in Prenzlauer Berg. They offer almost twenty different types of beer from the tap. During our visit, nearly half of them were from Birrificio Lambrate. This is great for us since we have been to Birrificio Lambrate before, on a trip to Milan back in 2015, and we loved every minute of it.

The relationship between Birrificio Lambrate and Birra is substantial since it belongs to the same people. In Italy, they run three different bars and the brewery. In Germany, they opened Birra in 2016 to be closer to what some people consider a potential centre of the European craft beer scene. And we are more than happy to have them here in Berlin.

One of the things that make Birra stand out from other craft beer bars in Berlin is that, in addition to beers, they also have food. You can find some delicacies from Northern Italy like parma ham, salami and mountain cheese, which matches really well with some of the beers they offer there.

If you are looking for some unique beers in Prenzlauer Berg, Birra is the place that you need to visit. It’s a must for beer fans and it’s on our list of the best craft beer bars that Berlin has to offer!
