A little bit of information about Bosco Verticale

It pened its doors back in October 2014, but the constructions started back in 2009. Bosco Verticale is composed by 2 huge residential buildings. The first one with 76 meters high and the second one with over 100. With over 700 trees, 20.000 plants and 4.000 bushes, this building is the greenest building in Milan. The towers were designed by Stefano Boeri, Giovanni La Varra and Gianandrea Barreca. And the project also involved input from horticulturalists and botanists.

Just to make this clear for you all, if you take all the trees and bushes and plants, and put them in a horizontal space, this would be over 1 hectare of pure green.

Besides the undeniable beauty, that changes with the seasons, this piece of art of a building offers countless advantages to the chaotic Milan’s lifestyle. The air inside the apartments is pure, the temperatures are more even, your house will not get so dusty and the outside noise will not be such a problem. And you can add the fact that this green is also very attractive to birds, making the biodiversity another point for this beautiful building.

Bosco Verticale is in Porta Nuova, between Via Gaetano de Castillia and Via Federico Confalonieri. Very close to Milano Porta Garibaldi railway station. The area is one of the nicest areas we’ve visited in the lovely Milan. It’s close to neighborhoods like Isola, Varesine and Garibaldi.

These buildings are for sure one of the high points of Milan due to its innovative architecture and beauty. You need to visit this place when you are in the city.
