Kreuzburger for #52weeksofBurgers

Cheddar poppers in Oranienstrasse
This week Fotostrasse explores Kreuzberg for the #52weeksofburgers challenge and have some fun in Kreuzburger. Nestled in the middle of concert venues and bars, Kreuzburger is quite a popular place to have a post-drinking snack in Oranienstrasse.

The place is medium-sized so it might accommodate all your drunk friends, the music is quite loud, and the staff is helpful. It’s the classic you order on the counter and go and grab it later.

Felipe ordered the special Kiez Menu (€10), and the burger in it had; a 100gr patty, garlic sausage, fried egg, cheese, salad, and a fuck ton of sauce. This one would be so much nicer with half of the sauce, but it was a mediocre plus in general, we love an egg in our burgers anyway.

I got the Friedrichshainer (€5,9) with a 200gr Black Angus patty (+€3,2), sauce, salad, and a breaded piece of cheese. Even the patty being probably frozen, it was more beautiful than the one in Felipe’s burger, way meatier. The breaded cheese was lovely, but it could be bigger. And the amount of sauce was better in this one but still more than needed.

We got the Pommes in Felipe’s menu, Onion Rings (€3,90), and Cheddar Jalapeño Poppers (€3,90). The first two were ok, but the Poppers were so tasty we came back and ate some a few days later. They have beers and soft drinks, and they are around €3,00.

Overall, this is not a bad place, and not remarkable either; the prices are a bit higher than usual for the quality. We would probably go back after too many beers to have more poppers, but I wouldn’t leave the house to go there. We rate it a 7/10.

Oranienstraße 190, 10999 Berlin

Price Range?

The Friedrichshainer burger was €5,90 plus €3,20 for the Black Angus patty, the Cheddar Poppers were €3,90, and the Augustiner Beer was €3,00/500ml.

Who will like this place?

If you had a few too many drinks in the area and want something to bring you back to life, this might be for you. It is a bit more expensive than we wished for the quality, but it isn’t terrible, though.
