If there’s one thing I’ve learned over the years with this traveling and camping, this thing is: DIY tip on how to survive, improvise and save money and space on the process. I’m here to share some of those life hacks for travelers that will sure make your life easier someday, traveling or not!

Get your straws going

The first thing I’ll teach I guess it’s my favorite one because save’s up space, money and it is more simple than most other alternatives I’ve tried. It’s the Ultralight Straw Packets. This is something I’ve learned with backpackers but I’m using every now and then because it’s amazing how you can reduce the amount of cosmetics, medicine and hygiene products you need to bring in your bag.

If you’re heading to a festival or camping or you just don’t want do deal with the hassle of having only 100ml of each item on your carry on, just make several of each and enjoy the loophole on this stupid law.

Watch the video on the side and be amazed.

Burning the Doritos

The next trick I’ll teach you the best thing to start a fire if you’re experience a lack of power or if you’re at a camp and you need a fire for cooking or just to stay warm. And you’ll never believe what is the best alternative! For sure you’ll rethink your choices of snacks, I know I did. I remembered that when I saw this I thought :I have no idea if I’m more shocked that Doritos are the best option or do the fact that I’ve been putting this inside me for so long.

This hack also works with normal potatoes chips and other similar snacks, ok? The perfect life hack for travelers like me that are constantly hungry.

One of the best life hacks for travelers that like to camp

Do you enjoy camping? Staying outside and sleeping in the nature and all that? Good! We do too. But it is super annoying the lack of light that a place with no electricity has when you need to find your stuff.

I’m about to show you the cheapest and quickest ambient light you can have. The cheapest EVER! I’ve lost how many times I needed to see a little more than THAT spot that my flashlight was illuminating or I needed both hands to do something, and because of those recurrent situations that everybody has, I present you: the milk jug + flashlight solution! This 40 second video here will save your future self and once it does, you can thank me later.

How long until it is night?

The next trick is something that as a photographer, I think is the most useful from all those tips. Do you know how to calculate the amount of sun time you still have left? It’s important to know that if you’re on a hiking trip and forgot your flashlight or anything. But if you’re a photographer like me, this means that life is good again and we can be sure how much time left we have for that perfect shot. Traveling or not!

Get your food ready with your beer can

The next item on this list of life hacks for travelers is, again, for people that like to camp. But I’m sure you can use the teachings of this amazing video in your hotel to cook your midnight snack. Just be careful with the smoke detector, ok?Let me show you how to turn a beer can into the only camping stove you’ll ever need!!!!
If you succeed on this, can you please send us a snap or a msg on instagram? We’re dying to see how many of you can make this happen!
