How is it like to do paragliding in Vorarlberg?

Everything you need to know to see 4 countries at once
Last year we were invited to visit one the most beautiful regions of Austria, Vorarlberg. And from everything we saw and did, paragliding in Vorarlberg was by far my favorite activity. The sensation of freedom and the indescribable view you can have from up the sky is something that everyone should try. At least once.

My flight happened in Bregenzerwald and couldn’t me more perfect. From the way up all the way down the view was incredible.

What to expect from this experience?

On the cable car, you can see the forest and build up the adrenaline for the jump. You’ll also hike a bit in the mountains of Austria and be surrounded by cute and iconic cows that will look at you and not care. And once you’re flying – the best part in my opinion – you’ll see Switzerland, Germany, Austria and Liechtenstein at the same time.

Paragliding in Vorarlberg for photographers

For people looking for the perfect photo opportunity, please don’t make the same mistake I did. Don’t lose your paragliding virginity and try to get good photos. It won’t happen. Besides, it is a bit impossible to get a big camera with you, so try your best with a point-and-shoot with good stabilization like the Canon G7X I’m using here.

Trust this blogger, your fear of heights shall not be in your way

One of the questions that I answer the most after going for paragliding in Vorarlberg is about the notorious and super common fear of heights.

I tell people in person, and I will tell you guys now: there’s no problem. Trust me. You will not have a panic attack in the air.

Paragliding is so calm and smooth that, even tho you’ll be hundreds of meters above the ground level, you won’t feel it. You’ll be in a chair-like thing, attached to a professional, in a glider, flying so slow and so peaceful that you’ll feel that you’re just sitting in a normal chair. But with a better view.

Besides, the school I went to in Bregenzerwald was the best thing I could ever ask for. I have (had) many problems with my fear of heights during these 33 years of existence in this world. It is (was) something that would paralyze me completely and make me unsafe. And none of that happened. I can’t explain in words. You’ll just have to trust me. It will bring you more peace than anything else.
