Seariani Fish and More: Amazing Seafood in Syros

When we had the pleasure to travel through the Greek Islands with the Running on Waves ship, our first stop was the not so famous (but one of our favourite) island of Syros. After walking in the sun for hours, we decided we deserved some excellent food. That was when we stumbled upon Seariani Fish and More, a charming seafood restaurant in a cute cat-filled alley behind the town square.

Very easy to find but hidden enough to eat in the outside tables with no people passing by.

Like most restaurants in Greece, we were greeted with a massive bottle of cold water and a bowl of the most delicious fluffy and yellow grilled pieces of bread ever with some seasoned olive oil. The staff was insanely friendly, and we felt like we were having lunch with family. This already got me excited to try the rest.

After browsing the menu, we decided to order the fish unique for two people, it might have been the laziest choice, but oh boy, it was also a smart one. The special comes with a salad of choice, three types of fish of the day, one seafood of the day, and a beer or wine for each.

We chose the beautiful traditional Greek salad for the salad, with feta cheese, onions, olives, tomatoes, slivers of green bell peppers, and cucumbers. It was beautifully seasoned and fresh; the saltiness of the cheese and olives goes very well both with our beers and the grilled fish. The rest of our special came served in a big tray, everything grilled to perfection, with seasoned olive oil and lemons for you to make it your own.

You will see that Felipe and I have no clue what the two big ones are, but they were both cooked to perfection, super juicy and flavorful. The same goes for the small anchovies that never let us down in any of the Greek islands.

Now hear me out, the grilled calamari at Seariani Fish and More

The grilled calamari was something else, and it will follow me in my dreams forever. It was so sweet, soft in the middle, and crunchy on the sides, with just a hint of smokiness.

As a consolation prize for the end of the calamari on our plates, we got a refreshing vanilla ice cream with berry sauce, which was also delicious.
