Where to stay in West Berlin: 25hours Hotel Berlin

It’s not that usual for me to stay in a hotel in Berlin but, after I had heard my friend André from Viagem Criativa talking about the best place to stay in West Berlin, I had to find an excuse to stay at the amazing 25hours Hotel Berlin.

So, there I was for a couple of days in January, exploring Berlin City West and enjoying what that part of the German capital has to offer. But, this time, I will just talk about the hotel itself and how I slept in one of the best beds ever.

25hours Hotel Berlin, an introduction to the best place to stay in West Berlin

But, first, let’s talk a little bit about the hotel itself. If you didn’t know that the 25hours Hotel Berlin is a boutique hotel, I believe you will learn about it when you see the neon sign and the bikes hanging from the ceiling. After the door behind you shuts down, you’re in their world. A place where everything is fresh and fashionable.

Inside the 25hours Hotel Berlin, you will find almost 150 rooms in a modernist building from the 1950s. The building had seen better days in the past, and it was neglected for quite a while before Bikini-Haus came into existence with its shops, restaurants, and lifestyle. Bringing some new life into a part of Berlin that needed a breath of fresh air.

Now that you know about the hotel, you need to know about the room and how much I loved the bed where I slept for a couple of lazy days. To get there, you will walk in a hallway that looks like a science-fi movie from a few decades ago. Every room has its number in a neon sign that shines in the dark and makes the experience of arriving at your room excellent.

The Room at 25hours Hotel Berlin

When you enter the room, the first thing you see are the windows overlooking Charlottenburg. My room had a view of Europa Center, and it was pretty cool to stand there and watch people go by late at night. Inside the bedroom, there is a mixture of wood, steel, and concrete with drawings on the walls. Inside, there is a mini bar and a big screen tv that might be attractive to those who need to sleep with some sound around, like me.

The bed was perfect for my taste, and a plush monkey was laying there when I got to the hotel. Like it was protecting my bed from whoever might have come before me. There was also a surprise for me with a small bottle of KR/23 liquor and a small bag filled toiletries.

Another highlight of the room was the bathroom. Tiled entirely in black, the shower head was strong like I like it and the heated floors outside it made my trip to the shower something magical. I think I spent too much time under the water there and I believe you will do the same when you stay there at 25hours Hotel Berlin.

And what about breakfast? That was one of the highlights for me since 25hours Hotel Berlin is home to Neni Berlin, a middle eastern rooftop restaurant with its huge buffet. There you will find a lot of variety in juices and beverages from coffee and tea to smoothies and lassi. Warm dishes come in the same great variety, and it even includes Berlin’s famous currywurst.

Another good thing about eating at Neni Berlin is the fantastic view from the surrounding area. On one side, you have Tiergarten and all its trees. Closer to the hotel, you can see the Berlin Zoo, and you can even see some of the animals from up there. On the other side, you have Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church and the new buildings around Breitscheidplatz.

What else do you get at 25hours Hotel Berlin?

Every room has fast wi-fi for free, and you can also borrow a Mini Cooper for free if you want to see the Berlin streets from inside a car. Since I don’t drive, I didn’t use it, but it could be kind of cool! There are also bikes for rent at the lobby gift shop, where you can also find cute shopping bags, notebooks, postcards and locally made drinks like the KR/23 liquor that you got on you gift bag.

On the rooftop, you can also visit the Monkey Bar, one of the coolest places in West Berlin. From up there, at night, you will have a great 360 degrees panorama view of the German Capital and see how amazing West Berlin can look like.

In the end, my stay at 25hours Hotel Berlin was beyond great with an extensive breakfast with a beautiful view of West Berlin. My room was nice and it had one of the best beds I ever slept before. The shower was so good that I wanted to have one like this in my house. Yeah, 25hours Hotel Berlin is great, and you should stay there when you visit Berlin again.
